Borussia Dortmund secured their spot in the Champions League with a convincing 4-0 victory over Freiburg in the Bundesliga. La Liga Drama
Rayo Vallecano managed to come back to earn a 3-3 draw against Real Sociedad in a La Liga match marked by a sudden turnaround after VAR overturned a Rayo goal and awarded a penalty to Sociedad instead.
Rayo thought they had equalized at 2-2 through Pedro Díaz in the 69th minute at Vallecas, but the goal was disallowed after the referee consulted the video and awarded a penalty to Sociedad for a foul earlier in the play. Huesca’s coach, José Luis, did not attempt to defend these actions. « It’s hard to explain – I think it’s a total loss of control. I can put myself in their shoes, given what was at stake and everything. But it’s unjustifiable. I don’t know what to do or how to stop this; a brawl breaks out, » he stated. « It’s ugly; it should have been a celebration of Aragonese football. I wish people would talk about the match, even if it was ugly, with little play but a lot of work. »
Óscar Sielva’s goal secured a 1-0 victory for Huesca, bringing them to 36 points in 19th place, while Zaragoza remains second to last with 35 points.
